Explore system architectureSTART WITH THE OPERATING ROLE
Operating mode and coupling method are separate decisions. We work through both.
01
Converts solar DC to grid-synchronised AC. A conventional grid-following unit needs a live grid and does not by itself provide outage backup.
02
Creates an independent AC supply using a suitable battery and charging arrangement. Generator charging and parallel operation depend on the selected model.
03
Coordinates solar, a supported battery and grid / backup circuits. AC coupling, generator input and transfer capability are checked model by model.
BIDIRECTIONAL BATTERY POWER CONVERSION
Charging and discharging between the battery and AC system. Grid-forming, grid-following and transfer requirements are part of selection.
Multiple conversion units, often assigned to individual battery racks or clusters. Review independent control, fault isolation and parallel coordination.
Battery strings feed a shared conversion block. Review DC combining, protection, current sharing and the effect of a converter outage.

Change the operating mode, PV coupling and generator option to see how the architecture changes.

PV connection
Battery energy passes through the PCS to the AC bus. The EMS schedules operation within the PCS, battery and grid-connection limits.
EMS coordinates operation; BMS protects and reports battery limits. Confirm CAN / RS485 / LAN protocols, firmware and tested model compatibility.
PV has its own inverter. Solar and battery power meet on the AC bus, a useful arrangement when retaining a compatible existing solar plant.

PV connects through an MPPT / DC–DC stage to the battery-side DC bus. The bidirectional conversion stage exchanges power with the AC system.

The PCS or inverter must establish voltage and frequency. PV output needs compatible curtailment and coordination with battery SOC and load changes.

Generator start / stop, charging limits, minimum loading and reverse-power protection are coordinated. A multi-function inverter port may not support generator and AC-coupled PV at the same time.
